Mental Health First Aid (Basic Course)

Mental Health First Aid is equivalent to regular First Aid, but specifically focuses on how to intervene when mental health is in jeopardy.  This course is intended for anyone who interacts with other people, whether that be at work, church, school, or even simply with your family and friends.


This 12 hour, 2 day interactive course teaches:

  • Signs and symptoms of substance use, mood, anxiety, trauma, and psychotic disorders
  • How to support someone who has or is developing a mental health problem
  • How to intervene in a mental health crisis including overdoses, suicidal thoughts, panic attacks, and psychosis
  • Relevant mental health supports in Edmonton

Cancellation Policy

Registrations cancelled 7 or more days prior to the event are refundable minus a $75 registration fee. Cancellations less than 7 days prior to the workshop are non-refundable.
