Biography: Sean has provided counselling for almost 20 years. He earned his Master of Counselling Psychology degree from the University of Minnesota in 1994 and registered as a psychologist in 1997. His diverse experience as a psychologist includes individual counselling, play therapy, family and couple counselling, public speaking and seminars, student training, running a private practice, supervision of provisional psychologists, and teaching undergraduate psychology. Sean completed an internship in adoption counselling and attachment disorder, and has trained as a play therapist. He is comfortable working with young children and teens, as well as adults. Sean brings his many experiences into his work with individuals, couples and families.
Sean’s approach to counselling is very collaborative, and he works with people as individuals in establishing their own, unique goals for change. Supporting people to reflect on the beliefs and attitudes that they have developed through their personal life experiences, and helping to change those beliefs which hold them back, is an important part of the counselling process.
